Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet was founded by a small group of Toledo residents in response to the vast overpopulation of stray and abandoned animals in our community. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated whether it is in the form of a donation, becoming a member, volunteering your time at events or fundraisers, fostering an animal (or two), donation of goods or making a cash donation: it's all appreicated!

Its a commitment and a joy. Its hard work, but endlessly rewarding. In many ways, its the best volunteer work in Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet. Theres nothing like finding a great home for an animal that entered our program injured, sick or terrified. And those happy endings happen all the time.
To be a foster home, you need to:
Provide a spare room for the foster animal, at least initially, especially if you have other animals. (You need to isolate any new foster animal until it is tested, vaccinated and thoroughly checked out by one of our participating veterinarians.) A spare bedroom, porch, basement or even garage may serve.
Arrange and keep track of your foster animals health care through one of our participating veterinarians. Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet pays the vet bills.
Provide love, food, fresh water and litter. Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet picks up the cost of food and litter if necessary.
Show your animals at least twice a month at any of our regularly scheduled or special adoption events.
Foster homes are always desperately needed. Please consider helping. For details, call our hotline, (419)470-2988 and leave a message for Marti or Janet.
